I had been in contact with a guy named Tim about his
fathers 1962 Ashley Sportiva
and he sent me an email with this picture of an Ashley that a friend of their's mentioned at the weekend with the following note:
"Here attached is a picture of an Ashley that a dear friend of ours
mentioned to me at the weekend.
Unfortunately her husband, Richard, had died last year and I
didn’t realise he once owned an Ashley
otherwise I would have got into much conversation with him
as he was a man of detail with a very technical mind and had lots of different and interesting cars in his youth, still never mind.
His wife tells me she thinks he had the car around 1972, 1973
(not sure if she actually means '62-63 ) but anyway
he kept it outside in the drive of their house in Summertown, Oxford.
She said he had it chained to the porch to make sure no
one tried to steal it!
Anyway, that’s all she can recall. It would be great
if you can see if it still exists or know anything else about it"
It's unfortunate that this is the only photo that she sent
and there are no DVLA records for that registration.
